5 Best Hiding Places to Stash A Gun

HIDE IN PLAIN SIGHT

Team concealedonline.com knows that personal defense starts with EASY ACCESS to your firearm.
Whether strapped to your hip…
… or stashed under a pile of laundry…
… GETTING TO YOUR GUN WHEN YOU NEED IT is where the proverbial rubber meets the road!
Here’s our top 5 list of favorite firearm stash sites:
[WARNING: if you have kids at home, be extra sensitive to the potential ramifications of each]

1 – BEDSIDE MANNER

If you’re at home and need to respond to a burglar or home invasion scenario, nine times out of ten you’ll be in bed, flat on your back, half-asleep. That’s when a bed frame holster really comes in handy.
The better ones slip nicely between mattress and box spring and stay put. Adjustable holster straps plus elastic pouches for mags or a small flashlight complete this highly recommended readiness ensemble.

2 – UP, UP AND (TUCKED) AWAY

Remember that amazing deleted scene in BLADE RUNNER (the original, not the crappy new one) where Deckard and Gaff search Leon’s (Brion James) apartment? After the two Blade Runner’s leave, it’s revealed that Leon had been hanging from the bathroom ceiling the whole time!

Genius hiding place!

Hang your gun upside down from a hook over the door right inside a closet. A burglar might go through your clothes and other closet stuff, but THEY WON’T LOOK STRAIGHT UP!

3 – THE SUNKEN PLACE

A burglar will be too busy ransacking dresser drawers, closets and the like to bother with what — at first glance, at least — appears to be nothing more than an innocuous pile of dirty laundry.

We recommend putting socks or underwear or anything remotely grimy-looking right ON TOP of the pile to really dissuade bad guys from being tempted to look through your nest of nasties!
And if, like me, you’re a bit of a germaphobe — you might even want to think about first stashing your handgun inside a plastic bag before burying it beneath a grubby pile! Highly recommended!

4 – D.W.C.

If you’re D.W.C. — Driving While Carrying — reaching your handgun without LOOKING LIKE you’re reaching for your handgun is key!
Obviously, glove compartments are totally out! Armrests aren’t much better.
Instead, an effective alternative involves using your seat cover as camouflage.
Split the seam on the rear of the passenger’s seat cover (nearest to the driver), insert a compact holster/handgun combo, and voila!

Carjacker’s beware!

5 – PLANTERS (NO PEANUTS)

Okay, I admit it. I love plants and have an assortment of greenery spread throughout my house.
Here’s the thing about plants. They make great decorative touches, they’re great for the environment, and (ok, I admit it) they’re nice to talk to (they don’t talk back!).
And on top of all that — they’re perfect for stashing a handgun in plain sight, especially since they offer the benefit of built-in camouflage!
So there you have it — our favorite places to conceal firearms at home or on the road!

Pelosi Slams Bill That Would Allow Concealed Carry Across State Lines

Pelosi says “NO!” to bill that may make it easier for gun owners to legally carry concealed across state lines

Team concealedonline.com ran across this big breaking news from the Associated Press.
House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi slammed the Republican bill ahead of a House vote due up later this week.
Plus she even accused Republicans of doing the bidding of the NRA!
“Far from making Americans safer, this… bill would make it legal for more dangerous and untrained people to carry loaded, hidden guns in more public places,” Pelosi said in a statement.
Gun-rights advocates scored a major win with House passage of legislation making concealed-carry gun permits valid across state lines — but face a much tougher challenge in the Senate.
Bill-backers of “concealed-carry reciprocity” argue they are trying to improve a jumble of laws from local jurisdictions that confuse legal issues for gun-carrying travelers. And they point out that the bill would NOT put state laws under a federal umbrella law or cut background checks.
“This vote marks a watershed moment for Second Amendment rights,” said Chris W. Cox of the NRA’s legislative affairs group.
The bill passed in the House 231-198 last week, with six House Democrats (Nancy Pelosi definitely not one of them!) voting in support.
Texas GOP Sen. John Cornyn, who is sponsoring the companion Senate measure, stated: “I support the constitutional carry, because I view it kind of like a driver’s license,” he told several news outlets before the successful House vote.
Republicans said the bill would allow gun owners to travel freely without worrying about conflicting state laws or civil suits. It even strengthens the FBI database of prohibited gun buyers after the Air Force failed to report the criminal history of the Texas Church gunman.
If the concealed-carry bill is approved by the House and Senate and signed into law, key state and local laws protecting against gun violence could be overridden, Pelosi said, “inviting concealed weapons into schools, churches, bars and public lands.”
Team concealedonline.com feels confident that when all is said and done, the proposed bill will more than meet the safety requirements necessary to make this an awesome new law of the land!

When Is Concealed Carry Reviews Necessary? Shooting Statistics Reveal Shocking Truth About Pistol Permits

If you’re lucky enough to live in a state where open carry is allowed (or even encouraged) by state regulators and local law enforcement, there’s a new reason to think twice before strapping on your side arm for a night out.

Detailed analysis of shooting incidents involving “good shoot” situations where 2nd Amendment defenders faced armed assailants points to the number one reason why concealed carry is still your best bet.

The research is out and here’s what it has to say…

When “must shoot” scenarios between open carry self-defenders and concealed carry are compared, concealed carriers are more than twice as likely to come out “on top.”

You’re Actually 50% Less Likely to Successfully Defend Yourself With an Open Carry Pistol!

A team of law enforcement researchers recently published a report analyzing shooting statistics.

In this report, they concluded (from a study of over 500 real-world cases over 10 years) that open carry is less likely to protect you against an armed assailant.

These numbers go against the primary reason we choose to open carry!

When you choose to open carry, one of the first things that pops into your mind is “deterrent.”

Open carry is, for many, an ultimate defense. After all, what criminal in their right mind would commit a crime or threaten you and your family with violence when he can see you’re packing in plain sight?

The law actually even favors open carry in many states, with 27 states allowing open carry without any sort of license.

Unfortunately, over 500 compared incidents involving pistol self-defense in public places, open carry was only half as effective as concealed carry.

Law enforcement conclusions in these cases are clear (and likely along the lines of what you are thinking): Open carry is less effective because the assailant you are facing knows you are armed.

In instances where an assailant is unwilling to kill, concealed carry and open carry protect you equally.

In situations where assailants are not afraid to kill or injure you, open carry will always work in your favor.

The minute you decide to open carry, you lose the element of surprise.

And there is absolutelyno reason for you to give your greatest defense (surprise) up…

Especially when you can qualify to carry concealed in over half the United States with a simple online test!

Most people open carry out of necessity, not out of choice.

Fortunately, it’s now easier than ever to legally carry concealed thanks to multi-state agreements with Virginia, a streamlined application process, and online certification.

These online CCW training courses also make the process of getting your concealed carry permit MUCH FASTER—especially if you live in a state where waiting times are months long.

Virginia’s concealed carry permit for out of state residents, for instance, only has a waiting period of 45 days!

With reciprocity in over half of the United States and an incredibly quick waiting period for your application, there’s no reason to keep clinging to open carry.

Plastic Sights

These are standard on Glocks. But in a low lit parking lot or darkened bedroom, you need all the help you can get!
In real life, things move fast and your shooting needs to be even faster.
The Meprolight FT Bullseye sight lets you do just that!
You’ll find it easier to shoot accurately, quickly, and keep both eyes open — all at the same time!
It works just as well in bright light as it does in dim light. And it’s just a fraction of the size of the typical reflex sight, replacing the rear sight.
You don’t need a front sight PLUS you don’t need to change your holster to accommodate it.
Pretty nifty, right?
The FT Bullseye (available in either a red or green dot) can be used with both eyes for better target acquisition. Just align the bright bullseye dot on target and pull the trigger.

Guide Rod

Faster recovery from recoil means you can get on target faster for a follow-up shot.
The Heavy Tungsten Guide Rod is three times as heavy as the factory plastic guide rod.
It adds weight at the muzzle. Plus it won’t bend or flex like the factory plastic guide which means better accuracy through reduced recoil and muzzle flip.
And installing it is a breeze.

The LWD Ultimate Adjustable Trigger is an easy, DIY alternative to standard Glock triggers.
Made of aluminum, the LWD trigger is smooth and symmetrical with the safety lever flush, so shooting is more comfortable.

Concealed Online Reviews - We Reveal How to Pick the Best Holster For Your Concealed Carry!

Here at concealedonline.com we know a comfortable concealed carrier is a happy concealed carrier!

And comfort begins with the right holster, one with good concealment plus unimpeded access to your gun. Remember: when it comes to a holster, cost alone should never be high on your priority list. You don’t have to break the bank, but skimping on this potentially life-saving product is a bad idea.

Your holster is vital gear, basically the interface between your gun and body. A substandard design could cause discomfort, a compromised draw, and even the loss of your gun.

Here’s a few of our favorites for discriminating, savvy shooters:

# 1: BLACKHAWK!® SERPA® Holster

The SERPA is both lightweight and durable at the same time since it’s made from engineered thermoplastic. But what sets this holster apart is the Auto Lock™ feature which engages the trigger guard upon holstering, effectively locking the gun in place. This safeguards your gun from an assailant yet still allows you an effective draw.

Each SERPA comes with belt loop and paddle platforms so you have options when attaching it to your belt or going to the range.

#2: M99  Holster

Keep your concealed carry close by your side with the M99 Holster — second best in our series, an awesome holster that ensures your handgun will stay secure throughout your busy day.

This handcrafted beauty is the perfect interface between your gun and body, featuring optional belt slots or clip for a one-size-fits-all design that lets you wear it inside or outside your waistband. Durable and rugged, this is one of the best solutions for concealed carry comfort.

Top-quality features include universal form fit that accommodates almost any gun model, effective one-handed drawing and holstering for right or left-handed shooters, one-size-fits-all design, snug retention that keeps your gun from falling in the hands of adversaries, trigger guard and safety protection along with optional belt slots or clip carry for wearing inside or outside your waistband.

Plus the M99 is perfect for women, its smart design factoring in female trigger reach, grip size, draw stroke, armpit-to-hip distance, torque and drawing power! Click here to check out all the details!

#3: Uncle Mike’s® Inside-the-Pant Holster

This holster will accommodate a wide array of pistols and revolvers.. The internal moisture barrier helps safeguard your gun from damage caused by the perspiration.

Made from an ultra-thin, four-layer laminate, the suede-like exterior helps the holster adhere to the inside of your pants and the clip anchors it to your belt. The nylon lining makes for a smooth draw, while the inside-the pant holster can be purchased with an open top or with a fold-over Velcro retention strap.

#4: BLACKHAWK! Hook Back Adjust Holster

This nylon holster is fully adjustable to accommodate most pistols and revolvers and is designed to be used in conjunction with Blackhawk’s popular Diversion line of satchels, messenger bags, and backpacks.

This unique holster adheres to a hook and loop section located within these packs and can be mounted at almost any angle to expedite draw stroke. The fact that it’s fully adjustable means it works well with  handguns that sport lights, lasers, or even micro red dot sights.

#5: Uncle Mike’s Inside-the-Pocket Holster

Uncle Mike’s Inside-the-Pocket holster does both really well. The non-slip band ensures that the holster stays in your pocket when you draw. It will accommodate small autos like the .22 LR or even sub-compact pistols chambered in 40 S&W.

#6: BLACKHAWK! Detachable Slide Leather Concealment Holster

Slide-style holsters are designed to loop your belt through, but Blackhawk’s Detachable Slide Leather holster is secured to your belt by angle cut belt loops utilizing non-reflective black snap covers. This allows you to strap your holster on and take it off without having to remove your belt.

And the holster’s adjustable thumb break ensures your gun stays put, plus it’s available in several models to accommodate most popular handguns.

Hey Buddy, Can You Spare a Mag?

WHY MORE IS MO’ BETTER
Spare Me
There are some very good reasons for carrying an extra magazine and the team at concealedonline.com is ready to weigh in on the pros and cons.
The difference between living and dying being at the very top of the list.
That said, let’s break it down, shall we?

First of all, if you’re forced to deploy your concealed carry in a self-defensive situation, there’s a better than average chance you’ll need more ammunition than just what you loaded in your pistol.
Obviously, when it comes to revolvers, this is a no-brainer.  But even if you have a 17-round semi-auto, you can still come up short on bullets, which could potentially make the difference between breathing or the other thing.

Unless you’re used to being in gunfights, the likelihood of hitting something with a single shot is not very good.  You can train all you want on a firing range, but paper targets don’t shoot back.
So when you’re up against an assailant or assailants (plural) who are ALSO armed, you will most definitely need all the help you can get to fend them off.

WE’RE JAMMIN’
Another reason to strap on a spare mag is the probability of jamming or some other unfortunate malfunction.

No matter how dependable you think your weapon is, the chances of it malfunctioning are high.
It’s not a matter of IF, it’s a matter of WHEN.

Extra rounds make you less vulnerable should this occur. Plus, with some guns, the only way to clear a jam is with a spare mag. On the range, a malfunction is just a annoyance.  In real life, it could be lethal.

THE INCONVENIENCE FACTOR

You know those irritating parents who hover non-stop over their kids? Who child-proof anything and everything? Who cause undo anxiety due to their own neurotic fears of the unknown? You know the type. And I suppose we could all just bubble-wrap ourselves when we’re puttering around the house or wear head-to-toe body armor when we go out.  But will that really make us safer or just stress us the hell out???
So yeah, let’s just face the facts and be done with it.
Extra rounds means extra inconvenience. Check.
Spare mags are difficult to conceal.  Check.
They can be uncomfortable.  Check.
But when you’re being shot at, I promise you, all these little inconveniences will soon be forgotten, because what it comes down to is whether the inconvenience is worth your life.
Something tells me, the inconvenience factor just can’t stack up to the “staying alive” factor.
